Obituary for Steve Furey

Steve Furey, 59, of Asheville/Taylorsville, passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
Steve was born November 18, 1954 in Buncombe County to the late Bob and Verna Furey. He was a jack of all trades. Steve was a tour and fishing guide in Montana, a builder, worked in small engine repair and from time to time would work with his father at Bob Furey’s Radiator Service. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and trumpet. Steve was loved by all and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Burke Webb.
Steve is survived by his stepmother, Alene Furey of Arden; sister, Susan F. Daniels of Taylorsville; brothers, Rick Furey of CA and Jeff Furey of Taylorsville; and niece, Carolyn Brown of Statesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Duke University Hospital, Liver Transplant Program, 2301 Erwin Rd., Durham, NC 27710.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to their friends, Stan and Diane Gilliam for their thoughtfulness, help and support during this difficult time.
