John Edwin Willard, Jr. (Jack) of Asheville, NC went to be with the Lord at age 86, on July 31, 2014.
Jack was born May 14, 1928 in Bennettsville, SC. He attended Presbyterian Junior College, Wake Forest College, and graduated from Erskine College with a BA degree in History. He served 4 years with the United States Air Force, taught school in Rowland, NC, and retired from INA-CIGNA after 33 years as a resident representative.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis Hayes Willard, whom he married in 1961.
Jack is survived by his 2 children, Jacqueline Willard Cooke and her husband, Timothy Edward Cooke of Winston-Salem, NC and son, John Michael Willard of Weaverville, NC; and granddaughter, Kelly Durant Cooke of Sylva, NC.
A service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Beverly Hills Baptist Church where Jack was a long-time member. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.
