Mary Ellen Smith Allen, 95, of Swannanoa, passed away May 13, 2015.
Mary Ellen was born April 8, 1920 in Buncombe County to the late Harbert and Harriett Chandler.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Eugene Smith; loving step-dad to her children, James Allen; son, David Smith; daughter, Nina Stevens; sisters, Juanita Spivey and Lavina Crisp; and brother, Claude Chandler.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters, Sherry Park, Judy Edwards, and Lynn Hensley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Memorial Park with Rev. Linda Wheeler Wilson and Rev. Cindy Arnold officiating.
