Ned Henry Garrison, 83, of Black Mountain, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015.
Ned worked at Beacon for 43 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Broad River Volunteer Fire Department since 1977 and active for many years as a Lieutenant, and a member of Broad River Baptist Church. Ned was a loving member of the community and never met a stranger. He was also a loving father and faithful husband.
Ned is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Beulah Garrison; wife, Elizabeth Garrison; and sisters, Hattie Lou Garrison and Martha Regan.
He is survived by his children, Ned and Linda, Ann and Troy, Susy and Harvey, Betty and Keith, Julia and Matt; grandchildren, Trey Frye, Craig McGinnis and Ashley Combs; great grandchildren, Christian Helms, Madeline, Andrew and Christopher McGinnis; siblings, Earline, George, Bill, Thad and Rowena.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Broad River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broad River Volunteer Fire Department.
