Donald Raymond Turner, 82, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2016 at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home surrounded by family.
A lifelong resident of Ridgecrest, Donald was born August 3, 1933 to the late Robert Wilson Turner and Mylo Denny Turner. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation after 20 years of service, and was a veteran of the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Alice Turner; and brothers, Paul, Dan and Doyle Turner.
Donald is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
