Obituary for Gale Champie (Helgreen)

Gale Champie, 60 years old, of Black Mountain NC, passed peacefully in the Hospice House in Rutherfordton, NC surrounded by loved ones in the early morning of November 13, 2016.
Gale was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and a friend to all who met her. No one who knew Gale could say anything negative about her, because she was such a caring person. Gale was a woman of her word, had a beautiful soul and there are not enough words to describe how wonderful she truly was. Gale was an Accountant who earned her degree at NC State University. She joined her father in a partnership called Helgreen & Dalton Accountants in 1981. Gale enjoyed being with her family, watching football, and laughing.
Gale was preceded in death by her parents, James and Barbara Helgreen of Black Mountain.
She is survived by her incredibly loving and supportive husband, Paul Champie; her twin sister, Dale Young and husband, Bob of Rutherfordton; brother, Dr. Jay Helgreen and wife, Karen of Powell, Ohio; sister, Jan Allison and husband, Ricky of Black Mountain.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and their spouses, Jason Allison and Angela, Mandy Gale Dunham and Jamie, Morgan Helgreen and Max Helgreen; stepchildren, Heather Dickerson and husband, James, Zohn Champie and Sara; grandchildren, Ariana and Isaiah Dickerson, Zane Champie and much more family, cousins, and friends.
Gale will be sincerely missed by anyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing her.
Gale’s life, her family and friends will hold a visitation at the home of Jan and Ricky Allison, 421 McCoy Cove Rd., Black Mountain, NC on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
