This is to notify you of the prices and changes to Rules and Regulations of Mountain View Memorial Park, Inc., effective March 1, 2021.

*This cemetery requires that ALL burials (Casket or Cremation) arrive in the cemetery before 4:00 pm. Burials arriving after 4:00 pm. will incur a fee of $295.00

*There will be NO burials on Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.

All casket burials require a minimum of a concrete grave liner (rough box) or 12-gauge steel or better outer burial container. NO 13-gauge grave liners or Plastic Vaults for casket burials. All cremation burials require an urn vault. Marbelon urns are NOT considered an urn vault. The urn vault may be the minimum of a Vantage Paramount Urn Vault, Wilbert Basic Grey, Wilbert Marbelon, Doric Presidential or better. No other plastic or metal, No Exceptions. Infant burials must also be in minimum of a concrete grave liner (rough box) or 12-gauge steel or better. Wilbert Loved and Cherished Casket/Vault Combinations are acceptable. If your funeral home installs and services your own vaults, please make sure we have the most current insurance documents from your insurance company.

This cemetery will have all graves opened and closed. Funeral homes may have their vault company put up your funeral home’s tent, grass, chairs and setup. If you would like for us to provide a Tent, grass and chairs, there will be a charge of $445.00

All requests for open/closing graves must be received at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to interment of the decedent. It is necessary that you fax your request form to confirm the time and date of the service. If there is a conflict, and you have not confirmed this with our office, you will have to reschedule your service. If there is a need for an Immediate Burial, the above statement may be waived at the discretion of the cemetery. Please confirm with our office that you received the fax back of approval at 828-669-2977.

Alignment, Realignment and Adjustment Fees of monuments and/or bronze markers.

1. Effective March 1, 2021, the rate will be $1.00 per square inch.

2. Alignment, Realignment and Adjustment forms and payment in full MUST be sent in by mail and received before monument or marker is set. Please mail all forms to Mountain View Memorial Park, Inc., 208 W. State Street, Black Mountain, NC 28711.

3. Please fill out the Alignment, Realignment and Adjustment forms completely. If they are not filled out correctly or if payment is missing we will return those to you.

4. We require at least a 48 hour notice as to the day and time you wish to set the marker or monument.

5. We also require at least a 24 hour notice before any sandblasting is done to any monument in the cemetery.

6. All bronze granite bases and grass level markers need to be at least four (4) inches thick.

7. There is no longer a stipulation to single graves having to have a flat marker. All single monuments must have a base no longer than 3’-6”. All double monuments must have a base no longer than 7’-6”. Any triple or quadruple monuments must be preapproved in writing in advance by the cemetery.

8. Funeral homes need to place temporary grave markers at their families loved one’s grave.

*We strongly suggest you give us a call before any marker or monument is purchased. There are some sections that have a stipulation as to the monument/marker that is required. We do not want you or your families to have to buy a marker or monument twice.

** If you sell the monument or marker to a family you are responsible for installing it, if we have the most current insurance documents from your insurance company and you have met all requirements of the cemetery.
