Lanny Ross Phillips, 61, of, Black Mountain passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
Mr. Phillips was born October 1, 1952 in West Virginia and had been a resident of Black Mountain for the past 30 years.
Lanny was more than an avid woodworker, artist and photographer. He was a man whose legacy was a loving family, and most importantly his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jewel Phillips and brother, John Phillips.
Lanny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Conley Phillips; daughter, Nikki Phillips Ballew and husband, Chris of Swannanoa; sons, Derek Phillips and wife, Cori of Asheville and Nathan Phillips and wife, Kitty of Quakertown, PA; sisters, Robin Flaim and April Comer; brother, Robert Phillips; and six grandchildren, Logan, Abigail, Connor, Nick, Kacey, and Lillian.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals.
The family will receive friends immediately following.
