Obituary for Janet Clevenger (Burns)

Florence Janet Burns Clevenger went peacefully to be with her Lord Jesus surrounded by her children and grandchildren on the evening of December 28th 2016. A native of Drexel, North Carolina, Janet moved to Black Mountain in 1956 and spent her entire life raising her family here. She dearly loved her family and church family, playing the piano and giving piano lessons. She was proud to pass along her love of music through her prodigy Richard (Richie) Ramsey. She was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan, as well as a fan of the Carolina Panthers when they were founded in 1995. Janet found joy in cardinals, crocheting, watching the gameshow network, reading, and loving on her kitty cat Scooter.
Janet loved her Savior Jesus Christ and spent her entire life bringing loved ones to The Lord. Many of us owe our faith in God to her. She was an active member of Faith Community Church in Black Mountain.
The daughter of Jacob and Sadie Burns, Janet is survived by her son, Michael; daughter, Tracy; grandson, Alex Michael; granddaughters, Carrington, Kelly, Tarah, Tesah, and Talah; and great grandchildren, Myiah, Jonah, Amelia, Caroline and one she had yet to meet. An incredibly loving Mother and Grandmother, she is loved by many and will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 5:00pm at Faith Community Church with Rev. Jerry Wicker officiating.
