Obituary for Angie Worley (Watson)

Angie Watson Worley, 93, of Swannanoa passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.
Angie was born April 22, 1929 in Avery County to the late Dewey and Sarah Beam Watson. She was a member of Grove Stone Baptist Church and retired from Kearfott. After retirement, she worked at Givens Highland Farms in housekeeping for several years.
Known as “Aunt Angie” to all who knew her, she was devoted to her family. She loved having her nieces and nephews and even great nieces and nephews over to spend the weekend with her as they were growing up, spoiling them and sending them home. She also loved spending time with her sisters who if you knew the “Watson girls”, you knew they were a tight group that has remained a close-knit family through all the years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mallie Worley; brothers, Amos, Lester, Jack and Ford Watson; and brothers-in-law, Henry Cantrell and Buck Buchanan.
Angie is survived by her sisters, Agnes Cantrell, Pansy Greer (Charles) and Aileen Buchanan. With Angie not having any children of her own, she took pride in spending time with and loving on her nieces and nephews, Anthony Watson, Linda Harwood, Brenda Wilkie, Paula Paquette, Randy Cantrell, Michael Watson and Peter Watson and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services with Rev. Michael Long officiating.
