Anne Margaret Brown Capps 85 went to be with the Lord peacefully early Sunday morning on June 30, 2019. Anne was the daughter of the late Paul and Marjorie Huffman Brown. Anne is originally from Marion, Ohio and had settled in North Carolina where she married her beloved Gerald Capps who passed in July of 2008. Anne loved her church, Ridgeway Baptist Church, and attended when she was able. She especially loved her Sunday School Class taught by Alvin Bumgarner. Anne was a friend to many and loved the visits she would get from her pastor, Jackie Collins, James Brown, Scott Sprinkle, Beverly Goodson, her friend and caregiver. Anne was a homemaker and worked as a waitress and managed several convenience stores. She also attended AB Tech and took business classes to help with her work. Anne made beautiful baby quilts and loved to sew when she was able to see. Anne especially enjoyed the cruises her and Gerald went on with in-laws, June and Bill Spivey. They were so good to Anne.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Capps, step-son Tony Capps, and five siblings, Paul Brown, LeRoy Brown, Patricia Brown, Donna Thatcher and Richard Brown.

Surviving Anne are four children, James Long, Sheila Long, Sherry Long, and Cindy Long, all of Ohio. Two step grandchildren, Sheila Benjamin and Jeremy Capps. Anne has several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on August 18, 2019 at 4pm at Ridgeway Baptist Church, 525 Old US 19/23 HWY. Candler, North Carolina 28715.
