Obituary for Anthony Joseph Yacovelli
Anthony Joseph Yacovelli, 89, originally from Pleasantville, NY and currently from Old Fort, NC passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Autumn Care of Marion.
Mr. Yacovelli was born July 21, 1932 in Westchester County, NY to the late Joe and Lucia Yacovelli. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He retired from Kearfott and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gus and Charles Yacovelli and sisters, Grace Yacovelli and Julie Paulo.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sandra Jane Yacovelli; daughters, Marianne Y. Hoyle of Old Fort, Louise Y. Killough (Danny) of Marion, Robin Y. Bingham (Eddie) of Old Fort and Toni Y. Carpenter of Hickory, NC; seven grandchildren, Krystal Stevenson, Joshua Bingham, Anthony Killough, Danielle Wilson, Aaron Bingham, Barry Carpenter, and Megan Allison; and eight great grandchildren, Kassidy Stevenson, Payten Allison, Aubrie Wilson, Averie Killough, Oakley Wilson, Corbin Wilson, Bryant Bingham and Asher Bingham.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:00pm with a celebration of life service immediately following in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services.
Burial will be Friday, June 3, 2022 at 12:00pm in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
