Obituary for Barbara Harper
Barbara Harper, age 91, entered into eternal rest with her Savior on March 13, 2021.
Barbara was born January 3, 1930 in Asheville to the late Broadus Rhodes and Helen Moore. She has been a resident of Swannanoa for almost 70 years. Barbara was a faithful believer in God and a member of Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church. She was a caring and loving mother to two children, she was always smiling and never met a stranger. She previously worked at RCA, CP Clare and Kearfott, and then retired from Bussman in 1995. After retirement, Barbara worked at Highland Farms until she was 75. Barbara loved car rides, especially her trips to Bojangles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Bud Harper.
Barbara is survived by her children, Beverly Harper of Swannanoa and Brian Harper of Asheville; and special cousins, Jackie Camby (Frank) and their children.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Ward and Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service time at the church.
Due to COVID, face masks and social distancing is required.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 609, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
