Obituary for Beverly Jean O'Donnell (Presnell)
Beverly J. O'Donnell, 84, of Swannanoa, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Mission Hospital following a brief and sudden illness.
She was born and raised in western Kansas and went on to graduate from the University of Kansas and the University of Michigan with degrees in Chemistry that preceded a career with Monsanto Chemical. She lived in the Asheville area for the last 25 years. She was a recreational pilot, a poet and individually traveled the world; favorite locations included Tibet, Kenya and Singapore.
She was a member of the Swannanoa United Methodist Church.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Fr. Frank O'Donnell and by her parents, Vernon and Bertha Presnell (Liberal, Kansas).
She is survived by nephews, Stanley McGrew (Johns Creek, GA), Gregory McGrew (Boulder, CO), Tracy Presnell (McPherson, KS), a stepson, Matthew O'Donnell (Placerville, CA) and stepdaughter, Shawn O'Donnell.
