Bill was born, at home, to the late George William and Sadie Pacola Edmonds Wooten on April 3, 1936 in Asheville, NC.

He worshipped his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, loved his family, and was salt and light to a lost and dying world.

He was an active, faithful, “A+” member of Trinity Baptist Church located in Asheville.
He proudly served in the US Army from 1957 until 1959.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, eating with his “Phase 10” friends at Cucula’s Mexican Restaurant and watching his Atlanta Braves baseball team.

He retired from American Enka/BASF.

Bill is preceded in death by his twin sister, Betty Ann; sisters, Marie and Madeline; and brothers, James, Albert and Richard.

He is survived by his children, Donald Wooten and wife, Susan, Billie Ann Wooten Hawkins and husband, Danny, Billy Arthur Wooten, Jr., Marcus Wooten and wife, Elisha, and Jeffery Wooten and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Mary, Zachary, Ethan, Cody, Cara, Tim, Lauren, Brice, Aiden, Mason, Taylor, Ryan, Rebecca, and Monica; and 11 great grandchildren.

The family, gratefully and respectfully, thanks the staff of the John F. Keever Solace Center for their kindness and dignified care for our Dad.
