Obituary for Birma Lee Boone Sawyer
Birma Leigh Boone Sawyer, 87, went to her eternal rest on April 10, 2021. She was born in Madison County, NC to Lewis and Maude Boone.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Ray (Teresa) and Anthony Carroll (Mitzi); grandchildren, Seth Sawyer and Cody Sawyer (Laura); great grandchildren Christian and Addison Sawyer; sister, Bethel Ammons; brother, Wayne Boone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jimmie Sawyer in January 2021, a son, Jimmie Max Sawyer; and her sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Sawyer retired from the Tandy Corporation (formerly RCA corporation) with 40+ years of service, and was a member of the Buckeye Baptist Church in Swannanoa, NC.
She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor, even in the difficult times in her life. A deep faith in Christ was the anchor in her life. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Buckeye Cove Community Club, PO Box 865, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
