Obituary for Bonnie Flowers Schmarkey
Bonnie Flowers Schmarkey, 77, of Leicester, passed away January 8, 2021.
Bonnie was born December 24, 1944 to the late Robert Flowers and Rosie Mathis Flowers Hughey. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family and faith. Bonnie had a good sense of humor and loved children. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Catawba.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her sons, Greg and Michael Fuller; grandson, Brandon Fuller; and brother, William Wesley Flowers.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Douglas Schmarkey; children, Eric Fuller (Donna), Cynthia Fuller Webb (Terry), and Michelle Letterman (Ken); daughter-in-law, Sheryl Fuller; siblings, Marcella Chrisplip (Dr. David), Lillie Ann Finley, and Robert “Robbie” Flowers; half-sisters, Lisa and Tonya; sister-in-law, Shelia “Janie” Flowers; 16 grandchildren; great grandchildren, Haley Scott, Elijaih Fuller, and 16 additional great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Swannanoa Valley Independent Missionary Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with Rev. David Dimsdale and Rev. David Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Fuller Family Cemetery in Swannanoa.
