Obituary for Bruce Cecil Bartlett, Sr.

Bruce Cecil Bartlett, Sr., 78 of Black Mountain passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

Mr. Bartlett was born January 4, 1943 in Buncombe County to the late Lawrence and Annie Crowe Bartlett. He was a lifelong resident of Black Mountain and a pillar of the community.

Bruce belonged to several organizations over the years. Little League Baseball Coach, Mason, and Commander of the AmVets Club to mention a few. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a member of Homers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Swann, Joann Slagle, and Betty Harmon.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Brenda Bartlett; sons, Bruce Bartlett, Jr. and wife, Kimberly of Kingsland, GA and Baxter Bartlett and wife, Melissa of Mars Hill; five grandchildren, Hailey, Kirsten, Dallas, Brooklyn, and Chesney; three brothers, Ronnie Bartlett and wife, Debbie, Ricky Bartlett and wife, Vanessa, and Scottie Bartlett and wife, Alecia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, May 3, 2021 at 12:30 in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services with Caleb Davis, Doug Mathis, and David Burgin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
