Obituary for Buckley "Buck" Duane Forester

Buckley “Buck” Duane Forester, 79, of DeLand, FL went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Buck was born May 18, 1941 in Asheville, NC to the late Albert Osbourne Forester and Pauline Hensley Forester. Buck was an over-the-road truck driver for 50 years, volunteer fireman at Hankins North Fork Fire Department in Marion, NC and the Founder of the Kentucky Coal Mine Mission. He and Linda retired to DeLand, FL where Buck became an avid fisherman.

Buck was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Marion, NC and Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand, FL. He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his faith and friendship with everyone he met. He would always say “I will see you here, there or in the air.”

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ginger Forester; and two grandsons.

Buck is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Roberts Forester; daughters, Dee Hooper of Mills River, NC and Glenda Boggs (David) of Leicester, NC; son, Aaron Forester of Asheville, NC; brothers, Mike Forester (Shirley) of Weaverville, NC; special nephew, Michael “Bubba” Forester of Weaverville, NC; special niece, Michele Forester Maynor of Weaverville, NC; and two grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00am at Bethel Baptist Church in Marion, NC.
