A longtime resident of McDowell County, Marie was born August 5, 1936 to the late Luther and Nellie Robinson. Marie was a loving and kind person who enjoyed cooking and feeding people. She loved her family and her Salem Free Will Baptist Church family, where she was a member for over 55 years.

In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Albert Parker; half-sister, Bertie Lou Kelly; and half-brothers, Jim Robinson and Luther Robinson, Jr.

Marie is survived by her sons, Wayne Parker (Debbie) and Wade Parker (Cathy); sisters, Geneva Hogan and Elizabeth Sneed; grandchildren, Chad Parker, Aaron Parker (Holly), and Kelly Parker Lawing (Alex); and great grandchild, Greyson Parker.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Old Fort. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Jerry McClain and Rev. Vincent White officiating. Burial will be in Salem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of CarePartners Hospice of McDowell for all their loving care towards Marie.
