Obituary for Charles Daniel "Danny" Dodd
Charles Daniel “Danny” Dodd, 73, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2021.
A native of Swannanoa, Danny was born April 19, 1947 to the late Columbus Burgin Dodd and Mary Etta Dodd. Danny was a veteran of the US Army serving during Vietnam. For 31 years, Danny worked at RCA/Tandy Corporation, he then worked for Ingles and then retired from Highland Farms. Danny was a member of Biltmore Church of God and a Sunday School Teacher for 47 years. Danny was an avid gardener who was meticulous about his yard, and he enjoyed being outdoors, flowers and animals. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor who will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Ernest and Bobby Dodd, Wilma Flynn, Faye McElreath, and Linda Flynn.
Danny is survived by his children, Angie Dodd Williams, Matthew Dodd (Angela), and Alena Dodd; siblings, Junior Dodd (Shirley) and Jerry Dodd (Louise); grandchildren, Makayla, Cameron and Connor Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Biltmore Church of God. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Dale Whitson officiating.
A private burial will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
