Obituary for Edna McMahan Allison
Edna McMahan Allison, 98, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2022.
Edna was born February 14, 1924 in Burke County to the late John Elzie and Georgia McMahan. She began her career at Beacon Manufacturing and retired from Kellwood Manufacturing at the age of 65. Edna then went to work as a door greeter for Walmart for the next 16 years and “said hello to everyone in Asheville”. She was a very strong, independent woman who will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Allison; sister, Helen Wilkerson; and brother, John E. McMahan Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mike Allison and Joy Allison (Clay Pennington) all of Weaverville; sister-in-law, Betty Joyner of Southern Pines; “grandson”, Scott Pennington; special “great grandson”, Ezra Pennington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edna will be interred at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
