Obituary for Elizabeth DeVore Bartlett
Elizabeth DeVore Bartlett, 69, of Black Mountain, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on January 18, 2023 with her husband by her side.
Elizabeth was born July 9, 1953 in Buncombe County. She retired from UNCA after 25 years and was a member of Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Peggy Sexton Wingo and James H. Wingo; grandparents, Vernon and Faye Sexton; sister-in-law, Linda Richardson.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 of years, Wayne Edgar Bartlett; brothers, Michael Anthony DeVore (Sandy) and James H. Wingo II (Tonia) of Asheville; sister-in-law, Lucille Reed of Georgia; special aunt, Cindy Amiott of Asheville; very close friend, Sonya Grindstaff of Old Fort; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11:00am at Mountain View Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Stone and Rev. Daryl Grimes officiating.
