Erma Lee Swift Reising, 87, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 15, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David R. Reising, Sr.
She leaves her daughter, Debbie Clark & husband Phillip; her son, David, Jr. & wife Melanie; her son, Jim; granddaughter, Tracie Worley & husband Jimmie; granddaughter, Jennifer Barnette; grandson-in-law, Bill Chilton; granddaughter, Monica Davis & husband Chad; granddaughter, Mistie Cogbill & husband Phil; granddaughter, Malarie Clark & husband Russell; grandson, Daniel (Cara); great-grandchildren, Hunter (Isabel), Justin & wife Dakota, Clark & wife Rachel, Grant (Kendall), Lillie, Maia, Bailee, Will, Max, and Dessie; great-great-granddaughter, Graylen; and brother, Magnus & wife Frances.
A native of Miami, Florida, she spent her early years volunteering as one of the 'Blue Ladies' for North Shore Hospital from 1958-1971, as well as in leadership in her local Girl Scout Association. In 1972, her and David moved their family to the Broad River Community in Black Mountain. She joined Bat Cave Baptist Church, where she was a well-loved and active member, teaching Sunday School for 26 years, volunteering for Vacation Bible School and mission trips, and designing floral arrangements for the church for 30 years. She was an active member of the Broad River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and wanted to share that she cherished "all the fun she had with the ladies of the Broad River Community." She loved her family, friends, flowers, and church.
A visitation will be held July 23rd at 2:00pm at Bat Cave Baptist Church with a service following at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be designated to the Vacation Bible School fund for Bat Cave Baptist Church.
