Obituary for Estie Honeycutt Williams
Estie Honeycutt Williams, 82, of Asheville, passed away peacefully at the Solace Center on May 19, 2022.
Estie was born on August 18, 1939 to the late Cleve and Grace Honeycutt and she grew up at the Children’s Home in Winston Salem, NC. In addition to caring for her four children, she was a caregiver for her in-home daycare and worked as a private duty CNA. Estie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Homer Matt Williams; siblings, Glenn, Charles, Walter, Cleve “Red”, Willie “Bill”, Rex, Stan, Lois and Sallie Honeycutt, and Doris Leeman; granddaughter, Kahla Lawson; and stepmother, Bonnell Honeycutt.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Penny Freeman (Carlton), Russell “Rusty” Williams, Rebecca Lawson (Brent), and Michael L. Williams; grandchildren, Valarie Williams, Kyle Lawson (Shelly), Emily Gould (Mark), Sarah Freeman and Matthew Freeman; and great grandchildren, Kairi Lee, Matias Williams, Kaylee Lawson and Baby girl Gould arriving soon.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 23, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30am at Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services. The family will have a private memorial service at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
A special thanks is extended to Estie’s neighbors for looking after and taking care of her for numerous years.
