Obituary

Fred D. Williams, 86, of Black Mountain, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Mr. Williams was born January 1, 1934 in Buncombe County to the late Theo and Vesti Hollifield Williams. He was a veteran of the US Navy with 30 years of service and a member of Mountain View Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Turner Williams; and brothers, George and Delmar Williams.

Fred is survived by his children, Darlene Brank (Larry) and Barry Williams (Paula); sisters, Wilma Strickland (Fred), Faye Hall (Charles), Thelma Dotson, and Shirley Roper; brother, Raymond Williams (Teensie); grandchildren, Dustin, Matthew, Tyler, and Zachary Brank, Haley Smith (Chris) and Logan Williams; and great grandchildren, Lyric, Lake and Lyndon.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 3:00pm at Mountain View Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Church, 2221 North Fork – Right Fork Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
