Obituary for Gail Rayburn

Gail Rayburn, of Black Mountain passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Gail was born on November 5, 1950 in Buncombe County to the late Burnice and Hazel Stines.
Known not only to her family, but to the community as “Mama Gail” and “MeMe”, she was loved by all who knew her. MeMe could be found coaching and cheering her grandchildren and those she “adopted” from the stands or simply sitting on her front porch visiting. Although our lives will never be the same and we will miss her sweet, “I love you, darlin’”, we know she is rejoicing with those gone on before her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tim Rayburn; sister, Lorraine Brewer and brothers, Larry and Tom Owen.
She is survived by her daughters, Mandy Effler (Chris) and Stephanie Jones; grandchildren, Collin Effler (Beth), Joel Effler (Sydney) and Jackson Jones; sister, Beth Conner (Ernest, Jr.); brother, Robert Rice (Karen) and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 14, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00am in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services.
Burial will be in Sky View Memorial Park.
