Obituary for James Phillip "Phil" Henderson
James Phillip “Phil” Henderson, 84, of Asheville passed away Monday, January 3, 2022.
Mr. Henderson was born January 29, 1937 in Buncombe County to the late Edward and Carrie Henderson. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of East Asheville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Henderson; sister, Joyce H. Hogsed and brother, Edward H. Henderson, Jr.
Phil is survived by his sons, Michael Henderson (Brenda) and Steve Henderson; grandchildren, Toni Henderson, Ashleigh Nesbitt (Lee) and Michael Henderson, Jr. (Jennifer); and two great-grandchildren, Magnolia and Findlay Henderson.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00am in Lewis Memorial Park with Pastor Phil Hurst and Rev. James Lamb officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Asheville United Methodist Church, 48 Browndale Rd., Asheville, NC 28805.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Charles George VA Medical Center and Four Seasons Hospice for their care of Mr. Henderson.
