Obituary for John Brantley Muse, III
John Brantley Muse, III, 78, of Swannanoa, passed away on November 20, 2022. He was born September 13, 1944 in Hamlet, NC to John B. Muse, Jr. and Hannah McDonald Muse.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Muse Thomas.
Having a huge heart and love of life, he was loved and will be missed by many. He loved hunting, photographing nature and was so proud to have retired from The Biltmore Estate Landscaping, which he loved!
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gail Lunsford Muse; stepdaughter, Melissa Berkowitz (Frank) of Hickory, NC; son, Jonathan Muse (Hayley) of Monona, IA; brothers, Charles Muse (Susan) of Florence, SC, and David Muse (Lucy) of Hamlet, NC; son-in-law, John Thomas of New Bern, NC; grandchildren, Peyton Muse of Weaverville, NC, Zoe, Olivia, Cooper and Brantley Muse of Monona, IA. and Aidan Corn of Hickory, NC.
He was a member of Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church, Swannanoa, NC. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the church or CarePartners Hospice of Asheville, whom we thank for their loving care of John!
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at funeral home with Pastor Jack Ward officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
