Obituary for June Francis Capps Ensley Vinson Spivey

On Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2019, June Spivey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92 years. June is survived by her daughter Deborah Lee, son-in-law Jim Lee, granddaughter Sharon Lee, granddaughter Laura Lee Powers, grandson-in-law Blake Powers, great granddaughter Violet Powers and great grandson Vance Powers.

June is preceded in death by her Father, Roy Capps, Mother Mae Capps, husbands Garland Ensley, son David Ensley, daughter Sharon Ensley, husband Ralph Vinson, husband William F Spivey Sr., brother Gerald Capps, brother Bruce Capps, brother Mike Capps and brother-in-law Larry Byrd, brother-in-law Cline Ensley, sister-in-law Nell Ensley, brother-in-law Ansel Ensley, sister-in-law Ruby Ensley, brother-in-law Garvis Westmoreland and brother-in-law Ralph Ratcliff.

June will be remembered by her brother Gene Capps, sister-in-law Sue Capps, sister Jeannette Byrd, brother Roger Capps, sister-in-law Janice Capps, sister-in-law Marge Capps, sister-in-law Sandy Capps, brother Ray Capps, sister-in-law Irene Capps, sister-in-law Kathy Capps, sister-in-law Mary Quinn Ensley Westmoreland, sister-in-law Betty Ensley Ratcliff, and sister-in-law Thadress Ensley Buckner and husband Max Buckner (June’s first cousin).

June will also be remembered by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, Catherine Spivey, Jim Brannan, Chelsea Hnat, Emma, Josh, Duke and Booker Zar and dear friends.

June Frances Capps was born on June 11, 1926 on Broadway Street in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Roy and Mae Capps. Oldest sister to six brothers and one sister.

A native of Asheville, North Carolina June graduated in 1943 at the age of 16 from West Bumcombe Elementary-high School Asheville, NC. Attended Mars Hill Baptist College, Blanton Business College, later continued education graduated with Associated degree from Miami Dade Community College, and later continued nursing Education at Normal Nursing School in Asheville. From there she lived in Miami then Orlando, Florida.

Work Career and location: First pay check .025 cents per hour.
Asheville, N.C.; Kresses as sales person, Newberry’s as sales person, Federal Government in the general accounting office. Memphis, Tennessee; Goldsmith Department Store as accounting clerk, Asheville, N.C.; Federal Government in the general accounting office, Sears & Robucks as account clerk, Gorham manufacturing company as accounting clerk, Sears & Robucks as accounting clerk. Miami, Florida; Sears & Robucks as accounting clerk. Orlando, Florida; Sears & Robucks as accounting clerk, and retired from Orange Country School board as accounting clerk.
