Obituary for Kate Allen Price
Kate Allen Price, 95, of Weaverville, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2022 after battling Alzheimer’s for over ten years.
Kate was born March 3, 1927 in Yancey County to the late Ruben and Lizzy Allen. She was an encourager, was always smiling, and loved flowers. She was a Christian woman who loved reading Psalm 23 and singing What A Day That Will Be, and was a member of Azalea Church of God. Kate was also a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Price; sisters, Marie English, Mae Dodd, and Pansy McElrath; and brothers, Bill, Mack and Alvin Allen.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jay R. Price (Donna), Shelby C. Price (Nancy), Brenda Allen, and Sandra Price; brothers, Arnold Allen and Ed Allen; grandchildren, Rodney, Nancy Ann, James, Jerry Lee, Kimberly, and Jonathan; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 10:00am in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow. Pastor Jay R. Price will be officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehab for their care of Kate for the past eight years.
