Obituary for Kenneth Eugene Banks
Kenneth Eugene Banks, 80, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2022.
Kenneth was born July 25, 1941 in Buncombe County to the late Lennie M. and Trula D. Banks. He was a lifelong member of Christian Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 46 years, Assistant Superintendent, Treasurer, Song Leader, and was over Maintenance. Kenneth also served in the US Air Force. He was a hard-working and loving family man who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, and brother, Roger Banks.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Gladys Banks; children, Lisa Milbee (Rob) and Rodney Banks (Amber); sister, Sharon Clark (Gary); brother, John Banks (Mary Jane); grandchildren, Brent Reynolds, Lauren McIntosh, and Jorden Holcombe; and great grandchildren, Gracie and Knox McIntosh, Jaxon Ledford, and Cohen Taylor.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Christian Creek Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Jason Queen and Rev. Gary Fender officiating. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Creek Baptist Church Youth Fund, c/o Larry Banks, 10 Larry James Drive, Asheville, NC 28805.
