Obituary for Laura Ann Kilby

Laura Ann Melton Kilby “Ann”, 75, of Asheville, laid down her sword on December 30, 2022. The battle was over and her victory won. Now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Ann was born January 23, 1947 to the late Harvey Melton and Leona Melton. She was a 1966 graduate of Charles D. Owen High School. She was a Christian woman who let her light shine for the world to see. Always a smile on her face, a kind word on her lips and love in her heart for all. Always taking care of others when she didn't have the strength to carry on. Ann loved spending time in the kitchen, playing the piano and attending church. She mainly loved spending time with her great grandson making several memories to endure him a lifetime. Ann was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Melton.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Arnold Kilby; daughter, Nancy McMahan (Randy); sister, Sandy Ogle (Phillip); grandchildren, Seth Coe; Ethan and Micah McMahan; great-grandson, Lejend Coe; stepchildren, Rick Kilby (Wendy); Tracy Medlin (Nathan); and Brent Kilby; and step grandchildren, Connor, Karly, Caleb and Karsyn Medlin.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Christian Creek Baptist Church. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sky View Memorial Park with Pastor Jason Queen officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hope Women’s Cancer Center and the John F. Keever Solace Center.
