Obituary for Lois Nanney Hollifield Davis
Lois Nanney Hollifield Davis, 84, of Swannanoa, passed away May 30, 2020.
Mrs. Davis was born April 26, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late Sam and Sue Ledbetter Nanney. Lois loved flowers, gardening crocheting, and animals. She was a member of Lakey Gap Presbyterian Church; and Lois was a devoted mother and grandmother who was loved dearly by her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timmy Lee Hollifield; daughter, Kathy Norton; son-in-law, John Dean Norton; and granddaughters, Andreah Hollifield and Teresa Noll.
Lois is survived by her husband, Vernon Eugene Davis; daughter, Lena “Tinkie” Cogdill (Stan); son, Avery Billy Hollifield, Jr. (Carolyn); step children, Spencer Vernon Davis and Allison Davis; brother, Jerry Lee Nanney; brother-in-law, Homer Davis; grandchildren, Aaron Nathaniel Mundy, Rebekah M. Holt (William David), Kelly Hollifield, Erikah Allen (Darrick), Heather Norton, and Jesikah Norton; step grandson, Braxton Davis; and great grandchildren, Chloe, Abby and Maggie Allen, Sommer D. Holt, and Lilly Forbes.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Lakey Gap Presbyterian Church from 12:30 to 1:30pm. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with Reverend Ronald Dodson officiating.
Burial will be in Hollifield Family Cemetery.
