Lois Carol Rogers Roland, 80, of Leicester, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023.
Mrs. Roland was born April 23, 1942 in Buncombe County to the late William and Meta Reed Rogers. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed reading, writing and embroidery work.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Welzie Roland and sister, Mary Harwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa Rogers Jacobs (Joseph), Michael Eugene Effler (Stefanie) and James Daniel Effler; brothers, Roy Rogers, James Rogers (Linda), Harold Rogers, and Lewis Carl Rogers; grandchildren, Christina and Joseph Wallen, Tamara Martin, Devin, Patrick and Matthew Jacobs, Michaela and Miranda Effler and Cheyenne VanAller; and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services.
Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
