Obituary for Margaret Frances Golden
Margaret Frances Golden, 95, of Swannanoa, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2022.
Margaret was born August 30, 1926 in Blackstone, VA to the late Wray and Margaret Barker. She attended Longwood and James Madison College. She was a teacher in NC and then retired from Kearfott after 31 years. Margaret was a longtime member of Valley Hope Church in Swannanoa, formerly Swannanoa Valley Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Allen Golden; son, David Wray Golden; and siblings, Marilyn Biddle and John Barker.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry Golden (Bonnie), Neil Golden (Roberta), and John Golden; daughter-in-law, Lynn Golden; grandchildren, Karen, Brent, Paul, Chris, Leslie, Seth, Megan, Abby and Nathan; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Margaret will be remembered for her love of her family, church, cooking, gardening and crafts.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services. A graveside service will be Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00pm at Sky View Memorial Park with Rev. Anthony Rodriguez officiating.
