Obituary for Marjorie "Marge" Solesby (Balen)
Marjorie “Marge” Ann Balen Solesby, of Black Mountain passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
Mrs. Solesby was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming where she had lived until she married her husband of 62 years, Thomas Lee Solesby, Sr. After living in several states and in Spain, Mrs. Solesby and her husband retired to live in Black Mountain where they lived the last 42 years.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Michael and Annie Soltis Balen; husband, Thomas Lee Solesby, Sr.; and brothers, George and Frank Balen.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Solesby Nixon of Black Mountain; sons, Danny Lee Solesby and wife Toni of Raleigh and Thomas Lee Solesby, Jr. and wife, Laura of Black Mountain; sisters, Eva Riddle of Great Falls, MT, Barbara Callahan of Rock Springs, WY and Verlee Woolum of Riverside, CA; three grandchildren, Bradly Alexander Solesby and wife Maranda, Jaden Lee Solesby and Rachel Marjorie Solesby.
Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
