Obituary for Mary Almeta Parker Kirstein

Mary Almeta Parker Kirstein, 89, of Black Mountain, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on October 22, 2022.

Mary was born April 7, 1933 in Buncombe County to the late Jule and Irene Israel Parker. She was a member of Reems Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Broad River Fire Department Auxiliary, and a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Union Church. She was a wonderful cook, loved playing softball, and enjoyed farming and working with her cattle and in the apple orchard. Mary was highly loved and respected in the Broad River community and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Kirstein; and brothers, Raymond Parker, Robert C. Parker, and Marion Parker (June).

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Ronnie Wheeler (Sissy) and his family; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services. A graveside service will immediately follow at Pleasant Grove Union Church Cemetery in Reems Creek.
