Mary Louise Daniel Stepp of 3 Chicago Avenue, Black Mountain departed this earthly realm on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the CarePartners Hospice & Palliative Care in Asheville, NC.
She was born on January 8, 1932 to the late Jerry Daniel, Sr., and Allavertta Greene Daniel. During her life she worked as a Cafeteria Worker and a Domestic Worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Robert Lee Stepp; two sisters, Eunice Logan and Loree Griffin and three brothers, Rufus Daniel, Charles Daniel, and Jerry Daniel, Jr.
Mary was a caring and giving individual who did not hesitate to help when there was a need. She was a faithful member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church serving in several capacities until she was unable to attend church. She was a Deaconess, a Sunday School Teacher, Senior Choir Director, served on the Hospitality Committee and Benevolence Committee.
Mary leaves to cherish loving memories, two daughters, Florence Sales (William) of Evanston, IL and Cora Stafford (her faithful and loving caregiver) of Black Mountain; three grandchildren, Thomas Stepp, Sr. of Spring, TX, Lee (Lisa) Stafford of Asheville, Antoinette Bentley of Lawrenceville, GA; seven great-grandchildren; Cody (Cassie), Cameron, Thomas, Jr., Tellis, Jr., Robert Lee, Nina, and Chase; four great great-grandchildren, Lexus, Haideen, Andrew and Xavier; two sisters, Aretha Richardson, and Betty J. Washington of Evanston, IL; four Godchildren, Thomas Logan, George Logan, Vance Hamilton and Naomi Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 1, 2019 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Mills Chapel Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
