Obituary for Molly Newland Minnick

Molly Newland Minnick, 65, of Black Mountain, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022.

Molly was born January 5, 1957 in Orange County, FL to the late Harold E. and Maie Newland Minnick.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her nieces Sarah Minnick and Lela Minnick; and great-niece, Taylor Fisher.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Harold Edward Minnick, Jr. “Ted” (Joy) and Steve Minnick (Tricia); nephew, David Minnick (Georgia); niece, Kim Minnick; great-nieces Ashley Minnick, Courtney Burton, and Laura Minnick; and great-nephew, Asa Minnick.

Molly graduated from Owen High School in 1975. She then graduated from Fort Sanders School of Nursing in 1978. She went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Nursing through Western Carolina.

Molly started her nursing career as an RN at St. Joseph's Hospital, then became the Assistant Director of the Emergency Room, then working her way up to the position of Director of the Emergency Room at St. Joseph's Hospital, then as Director of the Emergency Room at Memorial Mission Hospital after Mission and St. Joseph's merged. After the merger, she became the Educator in Clinical Informatics, all of this before retiring in 2014. Molly was much beloved by all her patients and colleagues.
