Obituary for Nancy Carroll (Burnette)
Nancy Burnette Carroll, 86, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River, SC. Nancy was born October 14, 1935 in Buncombe County to the late Edward and Rachel “Hattie” York Burnette.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gene Carroll, by her son, Robert E. Carroll (Jan), and by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her son, Randy Carroll (Sharon) of Shallotte, NC, by her sister, Juanita Willet (Pat) of Black Mountain, NC, and by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
After retirement, she and her late husband, Gene, traveled full time for 10 years in their motor home. They took it to Disney World in the winter and worked there every winter since 1999. They would then take off in the spring, first visiting their sons, Randy and Robert, in North Carolina and would then travel to various parts of the country from there. Nancy and her late husband travelled the country many times during the course of their 60-year marriage.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Nancy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Service will be officiated by Reverend Randy Stone.
