Obituary for Patricia Ann Conner Martin
Patricia Ann Conner Martin of Fairview, NC passed away January 4, 2023.
Mrs. Martin was born March 10, 1941 in Sevier, TN. She was a National Honor Society graduate of Swain County High School. After spending many years working in accounts receivables for several companies over her adult career, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She received her nursing degree from Asheville Buncombe Technical College in Asheville, NC and worked for several nursing facilities in Buncombe County until her retirement.
Pat had a love for reading, crossword puzzles and coaching the Atlanta Braves from her living room. In her later years, she occupied herself in the lives of her grandchildren (Alex, Derek, Nick, Jeremy, Sarah, Billy, Steven, Josh, and Erin) then great grandchildren (Gabe, Lukas, Shepherd, Nova, Teagan, and Juliana), never wanting to miss a birthday and always concerned with their well-being.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Swin and Hazel Conner of Swannanoa, NC.
Pat is survived by her husband of 43 years, Henry Martin; sons, Greg Norton (Kim) of Black Mountain, NC and Scott “Tony” Norton (Wendi) of Shelby, NC; daughter, Annette Tyson of Monroe, NC; sister, Linda Powell (Bobby) of Sanford, NC; brother, Bob Conner (Becky) of Hendersonville, NC, nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:30pm at Trinity of Fairview with Rev. Adam Guice and Rev. Scott “Tony” Norton officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:30pm prior to the service in the sanctuary.
