Obituary for Pauline Cope (Lovingood)
Pauline Lovingood Cope (age 96) of Asheville, NC went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2022. Pauline was born on May 29, 1925 in Swain County to the late Joseph Cube and Bessie Smiley Lovingood.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Cleveland Cope, three sons, James Monroe Cope, Boyd Lee Cope and Paul Darrell Cope, and a daughter Jane Cope Presley. She was also preceded in death by three sisters Maude Reeves, Edna Jenkins and Lois Robinson, and a brother Tom Lovingood. Pauline was a member of Reynolds Baptist Church in Asheville, NC. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and a wonderful Christian mentor to everyone she met.
Pauline is survived by a daughter-in-law Vickie Cope, a son-in-law Roger Presley, six grandchildren Chris Cope (Tracy), Jonathan Cope, Heather Higgins (Shad), Curt Presley, Heath Cope (Janey), Shelley Presley, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00am in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating.
A Graveside Service will be held in Swain Memorial Park at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reynolds Baptist Church, 520 Rose Hill Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.
