Pearl McMahan Shaw, 90, passed away January 17, 2021. She was born in Anderson County, SC on April 30, 1930 to Thomas T. and Willie Bagwell McMahan. She lost her husband, John D. “JD” Shaw at an early age.

Pearl retired from Kearfott in 1976, where she had many friends that she loved and cherished through the years. She was a member of the Swannanoa First Baptist Church. Pearl volunteered many hours at the Swannanoa School cafeteria.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Angeline Cheek, Mildred Cox, and Terez Hornick; brothers, Alec, Arvin, Grady, Jake, Pat and a twin infant brother, Earl who died shortly after birth.

She is survived by her son, John Jr. (Jean); grandson, John III (Angela); great grandsons, Jackson and William; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at Rose Hill, Marion, NC and Carolina Foothills Hospice for all the love and care she received.

A private graveside service will be held by the family at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Fair Play, SC.
