Obituary for Robert "Bob" E. Rice
Robert E. “Bob” Rice, 84 of Swannanoa passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.
Mr. Rice was born August 9, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio and had been a resident of Swannanoa for the past 44 years. Bob was a member of Valley Hope Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda McCallister Rice; daughter, Bethany Buell (Logan); son, Kevin Slagle (Sandy); sister, Nancy Clark; brother, William Rice; grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Slagle and Michaela Akers (Jesse) and great grandchildren, Rosalyn and Raelyn; brothers-in-law, Dale McCallister and Lowell Burwell (Zola) and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Valley Hope Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00pm with Rev. Anthony Rodriguez officiating.
Inurnment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Hope Presbyterian Church, PO Box 992, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or Mountain Pet Rescue, 130 Willas Hill Drive, Candler, NC 28715.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to their church family of Valley Hope Presbyterian Church and the staff and nurses of CarePartners Home Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care and support.
