Obituary for Robert "Bobby" Hollifield

Robert "Bobby" Hollifield, age 78, of Black Mountain passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at home surrounded by family.

Bobby is survived by Cheryl Williams, his niece & caretaker in the home; nieces, Lisa Little (Joe) and Becky Calderon (Hermen); nephews, Bruce Calloway and Kevin Calloway; great-nieces, Emily and Megan; great-nephew, Tyler; great grandnephew, Elliott; and great grandniece, Adalynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.V. Hollifield Sr. and Nell Penland Hollifield; sister, Patricia Calloway; and brothers, A.V. "Chigger" Hollifield Jr. and Steven Hollifield.

Anyone who knew Bobby, knew that he loved going to church. The Lord has called Bobby home where he can walk and worship Him forever. Bobby attended Mountain View Baptist Church most of his life until he was no longer able. Bobby had several special friends there.

Bobby was a strong supporter and had great respect for law enforcement, firemen and EMS workers. If his earthly body would have allowed him, he would have been honored to serve alongside anyone of you. Bobby loved listening to bluegrass, old time gospel music and big family dinners.

You will be missed Bobby, but you will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 4, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services in Black Mountain, NC. He will be laid to rest at Ballard Cemetery.

Special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice of Pilot Mountain.
