Obituary for Robert L. Padgett

Robert L. Padgett, 78, of Black Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Robert was born May 12, 1944 in Buncombe County to the late Allie and Dollie Padgett. He was the owner and operator of Fleetwood Express and Padgett Trucking. Robert was a devoted Christian man who loved the Lord and walked by faith. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and sang bass in the Happy Pilgrams Quartet. Robert loved his family. His sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his life and he will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his daughter, Jania DaneƩ Padgett; and sisters, Trilby Blankenship and Camilla Burnette.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Juanita Dalton Padgett; sons, Wayne Padgett (Margie), Steve Padgett (Misty), and Nathan Padgett (Susan) all of Black Mountain; sister, Mary Sneed of Black Mountain, brother, Albert Padgett of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Brandon (Tiffany), Brittany, Colby, Lexi and Allie; great grandchildren, Titus and Tessa; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:30pm at Victory Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Randy Gregg officiating. Burial will be in Padgett Family Cemetery.
