Tracie Elizabeth McNeely Perkins, age 54, of Black Mountain, passed away peacefully after a difficult and courageous battle with cancer on February 17. Tracie was born on April 11, 1967, to Carl Jerry McNeely, Sr. and Hazel Wyatt McNeely of Pleasant Gardens.
Tracie graduated from McDowell High School and Appalachian State University. A savvy businesswoman, she made a career that she loved and was co-owner of Show Off Logos and Promotions. She had many friends in the Asheville and Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce and the community.
First and foremost, Tracie was a dedicated mother and deeply loved spending time with her family. She also loved her fur babies. She loved the ocean, the mountains, and snow. Tracie had the best smile and her positive attitude lit up a room. She loved hanging out with friends and traveling.
Tracie was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Perkins. In addition to her parents, Tracie leaves behind a son, Zane Perkins; sister, Kelly McNeely; and brother; Jerry McNeely, Jr., his wife Summer and their son Samuel. She also leaves behind a number of dear aunts and uncles, cousins, close friends, and special clients.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, at 424 West State St, Black Mountain, NC on Saturday, February 26 at 2:30 PM. A reception to share memories will follow at Louise’s Kitchen at 115 Black Mountain Avenue, Black Mountain, NC. Masks are required at the Celebration of Life. The kindnesses shown to Tracie during her journey were so appreciated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hope Women’s Cancer Center of Asheville North Carolina.
