Bill spent his career in the New York City area, working as a career counselor at Bronx Community College until 1986, and then in private practice, until retiring to North Carolina in 2012.
Bill had a passion for Old Time music -- playing banjo and dulcimer in jams around the Asheville area. Also, Bill was an active participant in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville.

Bill is survived by his wife Margaret Kleiber, his daughter Karen Kleiber (Andrew Hunter), grandchildren Meg (16) and Ben (14) Hunter, sister Virginia Rowland (Mike), nieces Mary Beth Holzhauer (Scott) and Amy Rowland Skelly (Sean) and nephew Michael Rowland.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Assembly Room at Givens Highland Farms at 2 p.m. on July 9th. GHF Chaplain Hunter Preston will be officiating. A reception will follow the service.
