Obituary for Willie Jean Padgett (Kitchen)
Willie Jean Kitchen Padgett, 91, of Black Mountain, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Mrs. Padgett was born January 31, 1930 in Buncombe County to the late William and Mable Tolley Kitchen. She retired from Beacon Manufacturing and volunteered at ABCCM and Kiwanis Thrift Store for many years. Willie was a longtime member of Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Padgett; daughter, Sandra Padgett; sister, Katherine Kitchen Bartlett; and brothers, Bobby and Ray Kitchen.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Padgett; grandson, Isaiah Padgett (Tanya); great grandchildren, Paige Fogle (Matt), Kaylee Patton (Ryan), and Bryson Padgett; great-great grandsons, Hudson and Brayden; sisters, Betty Richardson and Pearl Blankenship; and brother, Johnny Kitchen.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00am at Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow with Rev. Randy Stone officiating. Burial will be in Padgett Family Cemetery.
